Your Role as a Sulcata Pet Owner

Despite being social and gentle, you must understand Sulcata’s care to be successful as an owner. You are successful if your pet is healthy and happy, and you can feel proud of what it has become.

If you want your tortoise to bond with you, you need to take steps towards caring for it. Their docile and curious nature makes them great pets for the family. Your job as the owner will include: 

• Taking responsibility for their care; your responsibility includes shelter, food, and psychological support.
• Protect them always; these are captive animals, and their protection from harm is your responsibility. You need to protect them from predators and extreme weather, cold or hot!
• Give them unreserved affection; they need emotional security and attachment. It is your job as the keeper to make sure of it.
• Be proud of the animal you raise; Every animal has its downside; you should overlook such and love your pet unquestionably.
