Our Story
Founded in 2015, Sulcatas.com started with a simple wish from our son, who wanted a unique pet to enjoy in our yard. His enthusiasm led us to adopt our first Sulcata tortoise, and everything quickly fell into place. We welcomed a large adult male, affectionately named Thorny, along with two females, Arizona and Shelly. This trio marked the beginning of our journey into the world of Sulcata tortoise care and breeding.
Over the years, what began as a hobby has blossomed into a full-scale breeding operation, and we now proudly care for over 30 Sulcata tortoises across multiple breeding groups. Our love for these gentle giants has only grown with each new hatchling, and we’ve committed ourselves to their welfare, health, and happiness.

Initially, we offered our hatchlings to pet stores and online retailers, where the response was overwhelmingly positive. However, we quickly noticed that many large pet retailers lacked the specialized knowledge and commitment to provide Sulcatas the care they deserve.
