Tips #6: Allow your sufficient UV light
If you are keeping your Sulcatas in an enclosed housing, you should provide them with sufficient Ultraviolet (UV) rays to cater to their calcium needs.
This sun property helps to keep the shell of tortoises hardened and healthy. If you fail to provide this important resource that is sufficient UVB, you risk making them sick.
You do not want your tortoise to develop a bone disease. Ideally, let your Sulcata get up to 12 hours of exposure to UltraViolet lighting daily. Since it is artificially stimulated, ensure you turn it off at night.
